I've had such a lovely relaxing day today with family and friends, a lovely Sunday lunch followed by lots of sledging fun!

We have had nothing like the normal amount of snow here in the South of Norway so far this winter, and pretty mild temperatures too. Over the last day or so we've had approximately just over a foot of snow and there is more to come within the next few days so it looks like things are about to change.

Snow has taken on a whole new meaning to us here in Norway compared to how we saw it in the UK. Instead of the chaos it causes in the UK everyone is prepared for snow here in Norway - it is of course something we expect to happen. We all have to have winter tyres on our cars by law from October until April that allow us to drive on snowy roads with little problem. Everyone is prepared for minus temperatures down as low as the minus 20s and because it is such a normal thing everyone has warm clothing and footwear. Farmers have snow ploughs for their tractors and keep the small lanes and roads clear, so there is no phoning in work saying you won't make it today because you've been snowed in.

Snow brings with it a whole array of fun activities for all ages too, from sledging to cross country skiing, snow boarding, ski jumping and lots more!

So today I thought I would share some photos I took this afternoon of my two little boys and our 7 month old Golden Retriever having lots of fun in the snow!
